The Brazilian Academy of Sciences has been promoting, since April 2020, a series of transdisciplinary webinars, in which three or four speakers address different approaches of an established theme. The objective is to introduce important themes and present possible consequences and solutions for each one, disseminating good ideas and quality knowledge for the population.

CONSERVATION OF THE AMAZON VIA BIOECONOMY:

July 21st, 2020.

In this webinar, the climatologist Carlos Nobre talks about the ecosystem of innovation in bioeconomies; the anthropologist João Paulo Barreto addresses the knowledge system and the notion of indigenous technologies; and the ecophysiologist Carlos Joly details the bioeconomy based on the chemiodiversity of Amazonian species and presents examples of sustainable use of resources.
