The Academy shall have individuals on its board of associates which fall into three categories, that shall be elected under a permanent nature, unlimited in numbers:
The Full Members will be Brazilian, native or naturalized, and foreigners living in Brazil for more than 10 (ten) years, with outstanding scientific performance.
The Corresponding Members shall be foreign researchers with recognized scientific merit, who have provided relevant collaboration to the development of science in Brazil.
The Collaborating Members shall be personalities who have rendered outstanding services to the Academy or to national scientific development.
