The fundamental laws of physics are very simple.
The world about us is very complex.
Living things are very complex indeed.
This complexity has led some thinkers to suggest that living things are not the outcome of physical law but instead the creation of a designer.
Here I examine how complexity is produced naturally in fluids.

FROM CELL TO TISSUE DYNAMICS

Over the last years we have learned how to describe several aspects of cell dynamics and cell traffic. For instance we understand quantitatively how molecular motors
pull nanotubes playing an important role in cell traffic. We have also learned how to describe cell motility and cell oscillations, which are observed when they are in suspension. These
studies give tools for discussing wound healing of cells, the onset of cell division and synapse formation. Eventually, I will show how a simple extension of this theory allows us to discuss salient features of tissue dynamics, such as growth of micro-metastasis.
